Manchester City midfielder, Bernardo Silva has called for video assisted refereeing to be considered for the Champions League after his side were knocked out by Liverpool on Tuesday.
The Pep Guardiola tutored side were wrongly denied a goal in the first half of the game at the Etihad as Leroy Sane was deemed to be offside.
But replays showed the ball had come off Liverpool midfielder James Milner and should have stood.
City players and some fans think it would have changed the game if City had gone in 2 – 0 up in the first half and Guardiola was so incensed with the decision he was sent to the stands at the break for remonstrating with the referee.
And the decision angered Silva so much he took to Instagram to ask for VAR to be brought in to the Champions League.
The Portuguese international wrote: “Thank you all for the support and amazing atmosphere tonight!
“We gave everything we could so no regrets. Next year we’ll be back to try again! Congratulations to Liverpool and good luck on the semi finals.
“Now let’s go win the premier league and end the season with a title Man City. Ps: Champions League could you guys start using the VAR next season? It might be useful.”
