Police Forced To Separate Real Madrid And Juventus Players After Tunnel Bust-up

Real Madrid advanced to the semi-final of the Champions League Wednesday night in the most dramatic fashion following a late penalty that effectively ended Juventus hopes of advancing.

Juventus, who lost the first leg 3 – 0 at home but remarkably hauled themselves back into the quarter-final tie by scoring three goals at the home of the mighty Real Madrid, conceded a penalty in the dying minutes of the match.

English referee Michael Oliver controversially pointed to the spot after Medhi Benatia was judged to have fouled Lucas Vazquez from behind and this sparked furious scenes from the Juventus players.

Gianluigi Buffon, Juve’s legendary goalkeeper, lost his head and was shown a red card.

On came Wojciech Szczesny in his place, but the former Arsenal goalkeeper could do nothing to prevent Cristiano Ronaldo’s perfect penalty from hitting the back of the net.

Real Madrid subsequently advanced to the semi-finals and celebrated their fortuitous aggregate victory in front of their jubilant home supporters.

But what happened next?

Well, according to Mundo Deportivo, the Juventus players continued to react furiously inside the tunnel and things eventually kicked off between the two sets of players.
