The city of Lagos was agog as one of the biggest brands in the world Google, held the second edition of its ‘Google for Nigeria’ event. This initiative by Google is aimed at connecting business owners, investors, partners, stakeholders, creative-minded people and digital savvy individuals to a new learning experience filled with innovative technologies that will promote their digital enterprises.

There was a long list of partners at the event, which is a redefinition of what Google generally means to the everyday Nigeria, who sees Google as just a search engine. Most mobile brands however, had their stands at the event, which shows Google’s support to the development of Android Operating Systems and the recent introduction of its Google Go, which is one of the best gifts the brand offered the saturated Android mobile market in Nigeria.

This movement is a confirmation of Google’s announcement last year that it would be introducing a new Operating System – the Android Oreo (Go edition), an upgrade to the Android Nougat.

The new flawless operating system Android Oreo™ is built to strip users of unnecessary phone lags by providing more storage capacity for end-users, even on a device with only 8GB of storage. The upgraded OS is also tailored to deliver new and reimagined Google apps for entry-level and mid-range smartphones which includes Google™ Go, YouTube Go, and the Google Assistant for Android (Go edition).
