Chelsea is looking to add quality to their shaky defence in the summer and they have identified Newcastle captain, Jamaal Lascelles as a good addition to their ranks.
According to reports from England, the London club has expressed interest in signing the impressive Lascelles in the summer.
The Magpies captain has established himself in the heart of his club’s back line since his move from Nottingham Forest in 2014.
Lascelles’s leadership skills and defensive qualities have helped Newcastle gain distance from the Premier League’s bottom three in recent weeks amid renewed optimism of survival.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea will make a £30m move for the 24-year-old in the summer after being impressed by his characteristics and performances this term, with the Blues hierarchy comparing him to a young John Terry.
Lascelles has made 95 appearances for Newcastle over the last four years.
