Barcelona’s search for a replacement for Andres Iniesta has taken the La Liga champion to the English Premier League, EPL, with impressive Danish midfielder identified as the right fit.
However, the Denmark star, Christian Eriksen, has declared the reported interest as ‘just rumours’.
With Andres Iniesta set to play his final game for Barcelona against Real Sociedad on Sunday night, Eriksen has made discreet enquiries over whether he could be the Spanish legend’s replacement.
On Wednesday, Eriksen returned to his home town of Middlefart. Whilst on holiday, Eriksen visited a local team with various disabilities.
Despite the upcoming World Cup, Eriksen played with the youngsters and after training answered questions.
When asked about joining Barcelona, Eriksen replied: “They have not called. It’s just rumours”, he said with a smile, according to Fyens.
The good news for Spurs is that Daniel Levy has put a high price on Eriksen and Barcelona already have Coutinho and will seal the deal for Antoine Griezmann very soon.
